Georgian townhouse hotel steps from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens
Location
The Porchester Hotel sits on a quiet residential terrace in Bayswater, 2 minutes from Hyde Park and a 10-minute stroll from Kensington Palace. Bayswater and Queensway tube stations are both less than a 5-minute walk, serving the Circle, District, and Central lines for direct routes to London's major attractions. Paddington Station is 10 minutes away via the Heathrow Express for direct airport connections.
Rooms
All colorful, air-conditioned rooms include a coffee machine, satellite TV, safety deposit box, and complimentary bottled water. Private bathrooms feature rainfall showerheads and guest toiletries. The entrance and hallway preserve quintessential Georgian details, including a beautifully preserved staircase, and a lounge area overlooks the street.
Dining
A continental breakfast is served each morning in the lounge area. The breakfast selection includes options for various dietary needs, with hot and cold items available. Breakfast can be added to room reservations for an additional charge, and flexible booking options allow guests to choose inclusive packages.
Services
The front desk operates 24 hours with multilingual staff, offering express check-in/out and luggage storage. Daily housekeeping ensures rooms are cleaned and towels replaced. Safety features include smoke detectors, security alarms, key card access, and CCTV in common areas and outside the property.
Family-Friendly Stay
Family rooms are available, and the hotel provides complimentary toiletries and daily housekeeping to accommodate children. The proximity to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and London Zoo makes it a base for family outings. Transport links via nearby tube stations and bus routes simplify sightseeing with children.
